The First Meeting of Cambodia Myanmar Past Pupils 200th Birth anniversary of Don Bosco

The Salesian Past Pupils' Association of Cambodia invited all the past pupils to make a meaningful experience with past pupils of Myanmar as one family celebrating the 200th birth anniversary of Don Bosco.  The spiritual preparations for this celebration was done through meetings and short letters send by Sister responsible. The celebration took place at Don Bosco vocational training center for girls at Tuol kork campus.  It was a joyful union of Past Pupils from all our communities of CMY Province. All in all 160 past pupils were present for the celebration.



Upon the arrival of the Past Pupils of Myanmar in Siem Reap on 31st July, 2015 the past pupils of Cambodia who work in Siem Reap warmly welcomed them, toured them around the famous Angkor temples and cultural village. In the evening they gathered in a restaurant to have dinner together as a sign of welcome and exchange of views. After dinner they also toured them around the Night market. It was a meaningful encounter though for a short time in Siem Reap.
And the climax of the Celebration began on the 02nd August, 2015 in Phnom Penh, The day began with a solemn Eucharistic celebration con celebrated by Fr. Leo  Sdb and Fr. Charles Sdb the Provincial of Myanmar. In his homily Fr. Leo appraised the past pupils that the colorfulness makes the day joyful and is the sign of Don Bosco alive with us today and in the world. The hymn to Don Bosco at the end of the mass recalled the sweet memory of school days.
After the Spiritual part of the celebration, began the input sessions, Sr. Teresita Garcia the Provincial of Fma welcomed all the delegates and the past pupils of Myanmar and Cambodia, followed by the welcome words of Hem Pisey the president of Past Pupils Cambodia. The main input sessions were given by Ms. Orawan Polsomboon, the delegate of the Past Pupils Federation in Thailand and Sr. Maria Elena Estacio, the delegate of Salesian family,Cambodia.
In the afternoon they had cheers, games, group work and sharing. In the general assembly the leaders of the group gave the summary of their discussions. The suggestions they gave for the FMA are very real and challenging.
To conclude the days celebration was the Cultural Program which began at 6:30 pm. Every group had prepared colorful program. After each program one member from each centers shared their experience for 5 minutes, experience of working outside after leaving the school or any type of experiences.
In this occasion the Past Pupils also took the chance to express their gratitude to Sr. Teresita Garcia the outgoing Provincial for her 6 years of animation and guidance. The day came to a conclusion with the message of Sr. Teresita, everyone was so happy and requesting to organize such moments again. This memorable experience will remain in the hearts of all past Pupils forever.

Sr. Tersita distributed a Souvenir of Don Bosco to everyone and all went home with joy and heart contented.
