Short History of the House
The House of “Mornese”, Anisakan was
officially erected on 29th
March 1994 . Anisakan is a
small village situated in the subdivision of Mandalay , at a distance of 10 Km from the
nearest town PyinOoLwin (May Myo). The house is dedicated to St. Mary
Mazzarello.This is the first and biggest community in Myanmar.
The Mission of the community
The community, today, is caring for:
- The
education of 225 kindergarten children of Anisakan and other villages
around
- After
school follow-up lessons for poor children who cannot afford to pay
tuition teacher
- Three
oratories in poor areas around Anisakan village
- Parish
pastoral work (Catechesis for children and youth, weekly prayer meeting)
- Family
visitations and support aid given to poor sick people
- Boarding
for 59 poor village girls, from all over Myanmar, for a two-year training
program in sewing, embroidery, knitting and other formative subjects.
- Care of
Past Pupils – keeping contact with them
- A
production Center to produce different kinds of bags and materials in
order to provide an income for maintenance
- The
aspirantate continues to welcome young women to help them discern God’s
will over them
- Participation
to children and Youth Encounters at Diocesan level
- Vocation
promotion also by visiting dioceses to meet young women to talk to them
about the Institute and its Charism.
