Perpetual Profession in Myanmar(CMY)
Experience of Annual Spiritual Retreat,
Renewal of Vows and Perpetual Profession in Myanmar (CMY Province)
The 26 FMA of
Cambodia and Myanmar (CMY) Province had its annual spiritual retreat from 3-11
May in Anisakan, Myanmar with the theme: “New Wine in New Wine Skins”. The
retreat was guided by Fr. Enrico Fidanza, PIME who helped the Sisters to go
deeper into themselves and into their experience of God through the Word of
God. The Sisters renew their commitment of making Jesus Christ as the center of
their life, of having a big and generous heart in the community and of bringing
His message of hope and joy to the world, especially to the young generation. At
the end of an eight day experience of silence and reflection, the seven temporary
professed Sisters renewed their vows in the morning of May 11.
On the 13th,
the Solemnity of St. Mary Domenica Mazzarello, our loving co-foundress, we
rejoice together for the faithful love of God as our four young sisters, Sr.
Catherine Niang Zam Ciin, Sr. Monica Cing En Zam, Sr. Angela Pau Lam Lun and
Sr. Justina Jue Thet Che said their Yes forever to God. We were graced
with the presence of His Excellency Cardinal Charles Bo and other 13 Priests who
concelebrated the Eucharistic Celebration at Nazareth Marian Shrine of Salesian
Fathers in Anisakan. “Let your light shine” (Mt 5,16) is the Word that
our four sisters took as their motto. Their symbol is lighted lamp, symbol of
the light of Christ. The assembly prayed together, filled with great joy and
gratitude to God, that their lives, enlightened and transformed by the light of
Jesus may be a joyful announcement of salvation for the young people whom they
will encounter in their life.
After the solemn
Eucharistic Celebration, all the invited guests were being served with a
sumptuous lunch in the compound of the Salesian Sisters’ Convent in Anisakan.
We thank God for these four Sisters who are Don Bosco’s living monuments of
gratitude in this present times. May their total offering to God bring us many
more holy and joyful vocations to our Institute.
