U. S. Ambassador Mr. William E. Todd At Don Bosco Vocational Training center for Girls, Tuol Kork.
The Don Bosco Vocational Training Center
for Girls had a very special guest this week. After several days of practice
and preparation, the students, sisters and staff were honored to welcome His
Excellency Mr. William E. Todd, the US Ambassador to Cambodia. Ambassador Todd
was also joined by other members of his staff, including Mr. Sean Callahan, the
Deputy Director of USAID.
That message was echoed by the
Ambassador, who told the students that if they work hard and believe in
themselves, they can do anything. In his speech, the Ambassador spoke about the
day that changed his life forever. It was the day his daughter was born.
This
event inspired his crusade to empower women. He said Cambodia is changing and
it is the young people who need to seize the day and create a brighter future for
their country. Ambassador Todd encouraged the girls to study hard, to listen to
the guidance of the sisters and teachers and to believe in their own potential
as young women, because someday they will be the leaders of Cambodia.
