TRIO CHICAGO AND THE UNITED STATES' AMBASSADOR COME TO DON BOSCO TEUK THLA
On Wednesday, 4 March 2015, Don Bosco School in Teuk Thla,
Phnom Penh hosted Trio Chicago, an American musical group whose mission is to
spread American music throughout the world. Students from Phum Chreh, Toul Kork
and Teuk Thla were also joined by the United States’ Ambassador to Cambodia,
William Todd.
Trio Chicago performed a set including blues, jazz, and they even
threw in a khmer song to get everyone really involved! The students clapped and
laughed along as they listened to new and energetic music that may have
originated on the other side of the globe, but that brought smiles to all in
ear shot. After the concert, Ambassador Todd spoke expressing how valuable the
Don Bosco schools are in Phnom Penh and how proud he is to be able to support
them on behalf of the United States of America.
The students then showed their
thanks by singing “Give Thanks” for all of the Trio Chicago musicians and
Ambassador Todd. All present enjoyed a unique and truly valuable cultural
exchange that will surely remain with them always. A big “Thank you!” to the
United States’ Embassy for making this event happen!
